Well all the weather did have one positive outcome, and that was that there was time to log in a great deal of content updates on

While most of those receiving this email have 'not' officially subscribed for updates, it was thought that you might be 'interested' in the content based on your heavy involvement in spreading our art.

New Content Added This Week:

1) An interview with the newest NGA dojo operator in Irmo, SC ~ Bryan Winfree

2) An article which considers a true story about an aikido sho-dan who stepped in to rescue someone who was getting beaten up by multiple attackers). It did not wind up well for the would be 'hero' ~ but it leads us to a logical mental exercise: "What are we willing to risk to potentially save the life of another?"

3) Expanded discussions of Applications and Classical Techniques ~ complete with embedded videos and comment boxes

4) The posting of some vintage photos from the August 1974 issue of "Masters of Self Defense" magazine featuring on the cover Shihan Bowe performing a particularly nasty looking Scoop Against the Kick on a very fit Jose Garrido.

Coming next week:

1) An interview with former Nutley, NJ dojo operator and now native Tar Heel, Sensei James Durand, who discusses the challenges of continuing his training away from an official NGA dojo, and his decision to form an NGA study group.

2) Vintage pictures of Mr. Weber employing an arsenal of arm bars on his son (who was serving as uke).
